Bringing Running into the store with adidas

adidas have developed an in-store marquee innovation zone product called Runlab as part of an aI retail initiative where customers who try on running shoes of their choice can link them to the treadmill via a pair of Bluetooth sensors. The sensors track running style, speed and other data relate to running performance. The project ran into difficulties when the technology required to link the running to the speed of the video wall could not be matched to different runner styles.

SmoothWeb provided a solution that allowed the product to launch on time in Japan without a glitch despite the short lead time. The Runlab has since been installed in several other stores across Asia working with SmoothWeb.
